New eProtocol Form Updates

Subject: New eProtocol Form Updates

Dear PIs:

The eProtocol form has been updated to provide a clearer and more comprehensive format. These changes will make it easier for you to identify which information is required in each section, and should result in fewer reviewer questions moving forward.

The updated form will ask you to re-enter certain protocol details that may now be divided into multiple fields. You will need to address these changes the next time you submit an amendment or continuing (deNovo) review.

The majority of the updates are in the following sections:

  • Personnel
  • Are You Using?
  • Husbandry

To make this process easier, we suggest you download a copy of your current Animal Use Protocol (AUP) so that you can copy/paste any existing information that was omitted due to the questions being revised. Clarification regarding updated eProtocol form for AUPs

Subject: Clarification regarding updated eProtocol form for AUPs

Hello PIs,

To clarify the email sent to you earlier this morning by ACUC/OACU, the majority of existing text in your AUP will be automatically moved to the new form by the eProtocol system. You will not need to re-enter all of your protocol information; and, not all AUPs will be affected!

The only areas that will need information re-entered are those in which the fields or questions have been altered as identified above. For example, if your protocol involves food/water restriction, that information will need to be re-entered because that particular question has been divided into two questions now.

We will also be developing a webpage to identify the questions that have been affected in the “old” AUP form; and provide you with more tips on how streamline transferring information from your “old” AUP form to the new one.
